The deep hole drilling process utilizes special tools and machinery to bore a hole in solid metal. The process results in deeper and straighter holes into metal larger than what standard CNC machines are capable of, all while delivering products with reliable manufacturing tolerances.
In addition to drilling single diameter straight holes, Ryerson also has the capability to provide counterboring as well. This is the process of drilling two different hole sizes in a single piece of material. This way you can start with the best possible semi-finished product for your application.
Gun drilling is a similar process, commonly used for holes in the range of 0.02 inches to 2 inches in diameter, and utilizes a high speed process. We also offers gun drilling services. Just contact us and ask how we can help.
